A new article by Ayça İnce: İstanbul’s cultural venues: recycle, renew, recreate

Image The new article by Ayça İnce (Department of Cultural Management), titled “İstanbul’s cultural venues: recycle, renew, recreate” can be accessed in the March-April 2013 issue of Turkish Review:

İstanbul has long been a center for cultural activities, thanks largely to its location, history, and heritage. However, more than 50 cultural venues have opened in the city over the past decade alone, mostly by private entrepreneurs but also by municipalities and independent artistic initiatives. Many of these ventures have involved old buildings or industrial sites being repurposed or renovated, with varying degrees of success and sustainability.” – Ayça İnce
